Very few islands the size of Saint Barthélemy encompass a social and cultural life as rich and varied as one finds here. All year, the island is busy with a succession of artistic events of quality, such as the wonderful festival of classical music, the festival of Caribbean cinema, fashion week, and a Mardi Gras celebration with its colorful parades. As for sports, sailing is often in the spotlight, with three big annual events that attract some of the world’s most beautiful sailing yachts: The New Year’s Eve Regatta, The Saint Barth Bucket, and Les Voiles de Saint Barth, as well as the arrival of the transatlantic race, the Transat AG2R, every two years. A unique event, the Gustavialoppet marathon perpetuates the history of the Swedish era on the island. In addition, the island’s hotels and restaurants contribute to the ambiance by organizing numerous musical events and festivities throughout the year.
